Dave Cheney is a varsity assistant football coach at Turlock High School. He grew up in Modesto. Dave attended Beyer High School, earning varsity letters in football and baseball before graduating in 1976. He received his BA degree from Stanislaus State and his teaching credential through Chapman University. He is currently a Special Education teacher at Turlock High School.

Dave was an assistant football and baseball coach at Beyer High School from 1980-85. He then served as head baseball coach and assistant varsity football coach at Hughson High School from 1986-91. Since 1992 he has served as assistant varsity football coach and assistant baseball coach at Turlock High School.
