Tom
Tyler is a graduate of Grace Davis High School. During his time
at Davis, he was a two sport standout, (football and baseball) winning
MVP honors in both. After high school, Tom attended Modesto Junior
College where he was a member of their undefeated National Championship
football team. For his efforts, he was named to the MJC All-Decade
team for the 1980's. Tom also played Defensive Tackle for the Fresno
State Bulldogs briefly before an injury redirected his attention
to coaching. Following his stint at Fresno State, Tom finished up
his degree at California State University, Stanislaus.
Tom began teaching and coaching at Turlock High School in 1985.
During his time at THS, he has coached baseball and football for
the Bulldogs at all levels. From 1996-2005 he served as the Head Varsity Football
Coach. During that time the his teams won 64 regular season games and lost only 36. In addition, the Dogs played 8 playoff games, winning 4. Under the direction of coach Tyler and his staff,
the Bulldogs won two Central California Conference Championships. He was
named C.C.C Coach of the Year in 2000 and 2003. Tom's wife Pam is a physical education teacher
at Dutcher Jr. High School. Tom and Pam have three children, Brett, Jordan and Scotty.
